Fishing titles, shared search and a tidier Fishydex

Features

• Track fishing titles with their original in-game colors, catch-count progress, contest trophies and completion statistics by grade. View requirements, compare community catch-count estimates and submit reports directly from fish details.
• Fishydex and the map now share search controls for fish, titles, zones and missing titles, including multiword names and grouped variants such as “Mystical Fish (any)”.
• Browse dedicated Catalog, Progress and Weekly Contest tabs, with sticky search controls, remembered detail tabs and next/previous fish navigation.
• Choose whether to include dried fish, other fishing-linked items, contest titles and unobtainable titles.
• Link directly to named Fishydex and calculator tabs.
• Weekly contest voting now supports downvotes.

Fixes

• Links without a trailing slash work finally too.
• Improved loading placeholders, removed flashes of the wrong saved view and corrected fishing-method labels.
• Weekly contest voting now correctly accepts MENA and ASIA regions.

Weekly contest voting, easier navigation and content history

Features

• Added community voting for the weekly fishing contest’s Prize, Rare and High Quality fish, scoped to your game service region
• Search for candidates, change or retract your votes, and see live vote counts; moderator-confirmed fish are marked separately from community leaders
• Filter Fishydex and map searches to this week’s selected contest fish, open fish details from contest cards, and access voting directly from the map query controls
• Added a shared page outline for jumping between sections and a scroll-to-top button for longer pages
• Added a shared history view for site content, including guides and documents, with revision browsing, rich comparisons and separate histories for each language
  • Legal document updates are also available via RSS
• Added a public feedback form with optional contact details and editable account-based prefills; no account is required

Accounts, synced preferences, map tools and calculator fixes

Features

• Added FishyStuff accounts with password, passkey and Discord sign-in
• Manage email addresses, named passkeys, Discord, display name, avatar, privacy choices and account deletion in one place
• Optional diagnostics and Discord profile images remain disabled until you enable them
• Signed-in preferences and saved work now follow the account across devices
• Synced data includes appearance and map colors, language, tutorial progress, loot display, authorship profiles, named presets and map bookmarks; unsaved Current work and its undo/redo history remain local
• Expanded the map with interactive tutorials, Trade Manager and Barter NPC layers, location bookmarks and grouped fishing-quest searches
• Rebuilt preset management around explicit Current work, named saves, responsive controls and undo/redo history

Fixes

• Calculator selections now survive tab and reactive updates, including pets, food, buffs and loadouts
• Searchable pickers now open and paginate correctly, while manual distances, trader selections and data-quality notices remain accurate
• Fixed mobile map containment, unreachable windows and stuck hover details
• Semantic field clipping now works for field types other than zone masks

New adopted TFR guide, polished map and calculator

• Adopted MaoMaoPrince’s comprehensive 3 x Triple-Float Fishing Rod quest guide
  • Refreshed guide layouts and navigation, and added a Black Desert fishing glossary
• The map received broad visual, search and interaction polish
  • 3D maps are back with source-backed terrain and minimap draping, waypoints, overlays, fish-evidence rings and hotspot model previews
  • Added expression-first queries, Trade NPC search and details, source-backed node and trader landmarks, clipboard bookmark imports and per-layer highlight controls
• Calculator scenarios now evaluate locally through the shared Rust/Wasm engine
  • Added source-backed quantities, conditional loot alternatives and mode-specific bite timing, with a visual loot-table editor and scoped provenance across Normalized, Denormalized and Raw Weight views
• Fishydex gained localized fish pages, Rod, Hotspot and Harpoon filters, official descriptions, and known versus potential fishing-zone evidence
  • Validated Fish Guide catch snapshots can be imported, with catch counts included in completion progress
• Game service region and data language are now separate settings, with broader regional language support

Calculator overhaul, map rewrite, Fish Guide and source-backed data

• Calculator moved to API-backed data and Datastar state
  • Source-backed items, buffs, lightstones, gear effects, pets, pet skills and item/pet icons
  • Saved calculator presets, saved layout presets, pinned sections, share links and searchable selectors
  • Bite Time, Loot Flow, group distribution, silver distribution and Target Fish views
• Map shell and interaction model were rebuilt
  • Movable windows, bookmarks, map presets and persisted UI state
  • Search expressions for fish, zones, grades, favourites, missing fish and patch date ranges
  • Zone catch profile summaries, provenance details and semantic region/territory details
  • 3D mode was removed (for now…)
• Fishydex was expanded
  • Fish Guide view
  • Favourites, progress charts, filters, sorting and details modal
  • Known fishing-zone lists ordered by the strongest available evidence
• Data paths moved toward source-backed inputs
  • Original/source files for map layers, item icons, pet icons, localized names and calculator catalogs
  • Provenance markers for zone loot and fish evidence data where available
• Site localization was rebuilt around Fluent
  • German UI work
  • Korean data-name support
  • Translation fallback notices and profile language settings
• Hosting/deployment changed direction
  • Self-hosted services instead of relying on Fly.io
  • Nix/mgmt service bundles for API, Dolt, CDN, edge and opt-in telemetry services
  • Grafana, Jaeger, Loki, Prometheus and Vector observability plumbing

Interactive Map, data pipeline, Fishydex and complete site overhaul

• Beautiful new illustrations thanks to Baklow 🤩
• New Bevy-powered map built from scratch with
  • Zone and Region Group masks
  • Search feature
  • Fish Evidence Points (exact locations where people actually caught specific fish 😉)
• Fishydex index for recording your fish guide progress
• Calculator cleanup with regrouped controls, improved catch-time/session panels
• New API backend for fish, zones, region groups and other layers, fish evidence events
• Site polish across the homepage, guides, devlog timeline, and shared layouts, plus a lot of legacy CSS and old code removed

The map is still in a pretty rough state right now (please do not try 3D mode). Since is is run as single threaded WASM app, it might also suffer heavily from performance issues.

But I’d rather have things available already and continuously improve it. So here we go :) I will try to push some fixes after doing profiling work.

Website touch up

• General Layout improvements to display more adequate data
• Groundwork done for a Multilingual Website
• DaisyUI + tailwindcss with theme selector

I’ve finally found some time to do a much needed overhaul. I do hope the new page layout system will be useful to you.

We also now have the ability to mirror pages to their translated counter-parts. So if there is strong demand for a specific language we can hopefully make it happen.

Volunteer work very welcome :)
